Clay Electric Youth Scholarship Now Open

Clay Electric Co-op is awarding at least 25 scholarships of $2,000 to eligible high school seniors (public, private, or homeschool) whose primary residence is served by Clay Electric.

You must be currently enrolled or have an acceptance letter.
Past due tuition is not covered.

🚨 Scholarship Opportunity for Student Athletes

The Coach Marion Chisholm Athletic Scholarship is now accepting applications for students pursuing higher education.

Last year nearly $1000 was issued to college going students.

Alachua Conservation Trust (ACT) is proud to open the 2026 Florida Wild for All Scholarship!

Open to Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and Multiracial People of Color interested in pursuing a career path in natural resources management or the protection of the environment of Florida, the scholarship will be awarded to at least three recipients and amount to $250-$500 each for the 2026-27 school year. These funds can be used for expenses as they relate to pursuing a career path in the environment and/or natural resource management fields.

Applications will be accepted online or by mail from now until April 1, 2026. Award recipients will be notified by May 15, 2026. Scholarship awards will be mailed by July 31, 2026. This application may be completed online at

 

www.alachuaconservationtrust.org/scholarships or by mail.

In addition to the monetary award, scholarship recipients will also have the opportunity to be featured in ACT’s biannual newsletter, be offered an option to participate in an ACT internship, be invited to an annual scholarship recipient gathering, and be given tickets to attend the Conservation Stewards Awards with three guests of their choice.

Read With a Dog

Our visiting therapy dogs are ready for fun stories and lots of pets. Reading to a therapy dog is a great way for kids to gain confidence in their reading ability in a friendly setting and for hesitant children to meet new furry friends in a safe and welcoming environment.  

IMPORTANT - This activity involves a therapy animal. If you are allergic to dogs or not comfortable around them, please do not participate.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Gainesville Thrives is registering parents/caregivers/children for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library provides one free book to eligible children (0-5 years of age) per month until age 5.

You can register in person every Monday from 10:00-11:00am at the Library Partnership Branch.
